1. Purpose of This Policy
This Cookie and Similar Technologies Policy explains how SpinVisor uses cookies, browser storage and similar technologies in connection with:
- www.spinvisor.com;
- the SpinVisor SaaS platform; and
- the SpinVisor browser extension.
SpinVisor is operated by Dynemetry (Pty) Ltd, South Africa.
This Policy should be read together with the SpinVisor Privacy Policy and Extension Data Collection Statement.
2. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small pieces of information that a website may store through a user's browser.
Cookies can perform functions such as:
- maintaining an authenticated session;
- remembering settings;
- supporting security;
- maintaining application state; and
- enabling website functionality.
Not every form of browser-side storage used by SpinVisor is technically a cookie.
The SpinVisor browser extension may also use browser-provided storage mechanisms to maintain extension functionality.
For purposes of this Policy, “similar technologies” refers to browser or device-storage mechanisms that perform functions comparable to cookies where applicable.
3. SpinVisor's Current Approach
SpinVisor seeks to minimise the use of cookies and similar technologies.
The SpinVisor website uses Google Analytics to measure how visitors use the site.
SpinVisor does not currently use:
- Meta Pixel;
- third-party behavioural advertising pixels; or
- cookies intended to build advertising profiles for sale to advertisers.
SpinVisor may use cookies or browser storage where reasonably necessary to:
- authenticate users;
- maintain secure sessions;
- operate account functionality;
- remember user preferences;
- provide browser-extension functionality;
- protect the Service against abuse;
- maintain security; and
- provide functionality requested by the user.
4. Strictly Necessary Cookies
SpinVisor may use strictly necessary cookies to operate its website and SaaS platform.
These may be required for purposes such as:
- user authentication;
- session management;
- account security;
- CSRF/security protection;
- maintaining application state; and
- providing functionality requested by the user.
Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent portions of SpinVisor from functioning correctly.
Where applicable law permits strictly necessary cookies to operate without prior consent, SpinVisor may use them on that basis.
5. Authentication and Session Cookies
When a user signs into SpinVisor, cookies or equivalent technologies may be used to maintain the authenticated session.
These technologies may help SpinVisor determine that requests originate from an authenticated session without requiring the user to enter their password for every request.
Authentication/session technologies are used for operational and security purposes.
They are not intended for behavioural advertising.
6. Security Technologies
SpinVisor may use cookies or similar technologies to support:
- account security;
- request validation;
- fraud prevention;
- abuse prevention;
- security controls; and
- protection of SpinVisor infrastructure.
These technologies may work together with server-side security logs, IP information and authentication systems described in the SpinVisor Privacy Policy.
7. Preference Storage
SpinVisor may store user preferences where necessary to provide a consistent experience.
Preferences may include:
- interface settings;
- account settings;
- extension settings;
- display preferences; and
- other user-selected configuration.
Where practical, these settings may be stored using browser storage rather than traditional cookies.
8. Browser Extension Storage
The SpinVisor browser extension may use storage mechanisms made available by the browser.
Extension storage may be used for:
- authentication state;
- extension configuration;
- extension preferences;
- installation/configuration information;
- supported-site settings;
- temporary operational information; and
- information necessary for reliable extension functionality.
Browser-extension storage is distinct from ordinary website cookies even where both technologies store information within the browser environment.
SpinVisor does not intend to use extension storage to store:
- casino passwords;
- online-banking passwords;
- complete payment-card numbers;
- CVV/card security codes; or
- unrelated private browsing information.
Further information is provided in the SpinVisor Extension Data Collection Statement.
9. Supported-Site Permissions Are Not Cookies
Browser permissions allowing the SpinVisor extension to operate on supported websites are not themselves cookies.
Where a browser requires permission for SpinVisor to access a supported website, the user controls that permission through browser functionality.
Granting or refusing a browser-extension permission is separate from accepting or rejecting website cookies.
SpinVisor does not override a user's browser-level decision to deny website access.
10. Gameplay Telemetry Is Not Collected Through Advertising Cookies
SpinVisor processes supported gameplay telemetry through the browser extension as described in the Extension Data Collection Statement.
This processing is part of SpinVisor's core gameplay-tracking functionality.
SpinVisor does not use advertising cookies or advertising pixels to collect gameplay telemetry.
Gameplay telemetry may include game, provider, casino, spin, wager, win/loss, bonus/feature and related supported gameplay-event information.
11. Commercial Telemetry Data
SpinVisor's commercial use, licensing or sale of gameplay telemetry datasets does not depend upon behavioural advertising cookies.
As described in SpinVisor's privacy documentation, commercial telemetry datasets exclude user/account references such as:
- SpinVisor handles;
- account IDs;
- email addresses;
- dates of birth;
- IP addresses;
- names;
- profile photographs; and
- authentication information.
The commercial use of gameplay telemetry is addressed in the SpinVisor Privacy Policy and applicable jurisdiction-specific privacy notices rather than being treated as advertising-cookie activity.
12. Analytics Cookies
The SpinVisor website uses Google Analytics to measure website usage, including information such as pages viewed, approximate location derived from IP address, device and browser type, referring sites, and similar technical usage statistics.
Google Analytics is provided by Google and may set cookies or similar technologies. Google's processing of that information is described in Google's own privacy and cookie documentation.
Google Analytics is used to understand and improve the SpinVisor website. It is not used to serve behavioural advertising, retarget users across unrelated websites, or build advertising profiles for sale to advertisers.
SpinVisor may also maintain first-party operational information necessary to understand:
- application performance;
- security;
- errors;
- reliability; and
- service operation.
Server logs and application diagnostics are not necessarily cookies.
If SpinVisor changes its analytics tools or introduces additional optional analytics cookies, this Policy will be updated and consent mechanisms will be introduced where required by applicable law.
13. Advertising and Marketing Cookies
SpinVisor does not currently use Meta Pixel or comparable third-party advertising pixels.
SpinVisor does not currently use cookies for:
- cross-site behavioural advertising;
- advertising retargeting;
- building third-party advertising profiles; or
- tracking users across unrelated websites for advertising purposes.
If SpinVisor introduces such technologies in the future, SpinVisor will update this Policy and implement applicable consent and privacy controls before using them where required by law.
14. Cloudflare and Infrastructure Technologies
SpinVisor uses Cloudflare as part of its infrastructure, content-delivery, storage and/or security environment.
Infrastructure providers may use technical mechanisms necessary to:
- provide security;
- detect malicious traffic;
- route network requests;
- maintain service availability;
- deliver content; and
- protect infrastructure.
Where such technologies result in processing of personal information, that processing is subject to the SpinVisor Privacy Policy and applicable privacy law.
SpinVisor does not use Cloudflare as a substitute for behavioural advertising analytics.
15. Payment Providers
SpinVisor may use external payment processors, payment gateways or a Merchant of Record to process paid subscriptions.
When a user enters a third-party payment environment, that provider may use its own cookies or similar technologies for purposes such as:
- payment processing;
- fraud prevention;
- authentication;
- security;
- tax determination; and
- regulatory compliance.
Those technologies are controlled by the applicable third-party provider and are subject to that provider's own privacy and cookie practices.
SpinVisor's final payment provider will be identified where appropriate once the applicable arrangement has been finalised.
16. Newsletter
SpinVisor's newsletter system is operated as a first-party subscription system.
SpinVisor records whether an email address is:
- subscribed; or
- unsubscribed.
SpinVisor does not currently maintain newsletter behavioural histories designed to profile individual users based on their interaction with marketing emails.
An unsubscribe mechanism is provided.
Following unsubscribe, SpinVisor may retain a minimum suppression record where reasonably necessary to ensure that the opt-out continues to be honoured.
17. Cookie Consent
Where applicable law requires consent before a particular cookie or similar technology may be stored or accessed, SpinVisor will seek the required consent before using that technology.
Technologies that are strictly necessary to provide a service explicitly requested by the user, maintain security or perform other functions exempt from consent under applicable law may operate without optional cookie consent where legally permitted.
SpinVisor will not classify a technology as strictly necessary merely to avoid an applicable consent requirement.
18. Cookie Banner
The SpinVisor website uses Google Analytics cookies or similar technologies in addition to strictly necessary cookies. SpinVisor does not currently use behavioural advertising cookies, Meta Pixel or comparable advertising pixels.
SpinVisor will assess the technologies actually deployed on its website before determining whether a consent banner is legally required for a particular jurisdiction.
If SpinVisor introduces additional non-essential cookies requiring consent, SpinVisor will implement an appropriate consent mechanism before activating them for users where such consent is required.
19. Managing Cookies
Users can generally manage website cookies through their browser settings.
Depending on the browser, users may be able to:
- view stored cookies;
- delete cookies;
- block particular websites from setting cookies;
- block third-party cookies; or
- configure other privacy settings.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent authentication or other SpinVisor functionality from operating correctly.
Browser-extension storage and permissions may require separate controls provided through the browser's extension-management interface.
20. Retention
Cookies and similar technologies may have different lifetimes depending on their purpose.
Session technologies
These may expire when the applicable session ends or after a defined period of inactivity.
Authentication technologies
These may remain for the period necessary to maintain an authenticated session, subject to applicable security controls.
Preference storage
Preferences may remain until:
- changed by the user;
- deleted by the user/browser;
- the extension or application removes them; or
- they are no longer required.
Security information
Server-side information associated with security and technical events may be retained according to the retention periods described in the SpinVisor Privacy Policy.
SpinVisor seeks not to retain cookie-derived personal information longer than reasonably necessary for its stated purpose.
21. Deleting Cookies Does Not Delete a SpinVisor Account
Deleting cookies or browser storage does not necessarily delete the user's SpinVisor account.
Similarly:
- uninstalling the browser extension;
- clearing browser storage;
- clearing cookies; or
- removing a browser permission
does not necessarily constitute an account-deletion request.
Users who wish to permanently delete their SpinVisor account should use SpinVisor's account-deletion functionality.
Account deletion is governed by the SpinVisor Privacy Policy.
22. Changes to This Policy
SpinVisor may update this Policy where:
- website technologies change;
- extension technologies change;
- new service providers are introduced;
- payment providers change;
- analytics technologies change;
- legal requirements change; or
- SpinVisor's processing practices otherwise change.
The “Last Updated” date will be revised when this Policy changes.
If SpinVisor introduces a new technology requiring consent, the applicable consent mechanism will be implemented where required.
